Spotlighters are set to present the Tennessee Williams' classic - A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by Sherrionne Brown.

Her expertise is drawn from ten plus years of experience in theatre, as both an actor and director.

She puts a personal emphasis on the play and wants the audience to clear their minds of Marlon Brando, Vivien Leigh and Kim Hunter, and envision a more intimate and thorough look at Stanley, Blanche and STELLA!!

Set in 1947, A Streetcar Name Desire goes from zero-to-sixty in 3.2 seconds. Stella's sister Blanche nervously shows up at her doorstep in New Orleans, having lost the family plantation after her husband's tragic suicide - and it only goes deeper from there.
The ongoing saga is an amazing tale of human relationships and all they entail, from rampant drinking and partying to romance and love, all in a tiny two room apartment.

This production features Kate Volpe as Stella, Michael Leicht as Stanley and Nancy Murray as Blanche. With these talented actors and Sherrionne Brown at the helm,
Tennessee Williams throws the audience countless curveballs, exposing a storyline bursting with intrigue, debauchery, relationships, and of course, sex.

Williams' story has more twists and turns than a country mountain road but it's entertaining and easy to follow. With such a brilliant cast, crew and director, the show is extremely well presented,
and comical at parts. Don't be bashful; treat yourself to 2011 Spotlighters Premiere of A Streetcar Named Desire.

A Streetcar Named Desire closes February 6, 2011.
