The combined Boards of Olney Theatre Center for the Arts and Olney Theatre Corporation, led by President Jennifer Kneeland, are pleased to announce the appointment of Deborah Ellinghaus as Managing Director, beginning August 26, 2014.

Ms. Ellinghaus comes to Olney Theatre Center from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she served as Director of Development for the College of Arts and Humanities since 2011. Prior to her tenure at Maryland, she spent six years as Senior Associate Director of Development and Alumni Affairs at Yale School of Drama/Yale Repertory Theatre in New Haven, CT. At Yale, she was part of a university-wide campaign that raised more than $3.8 billion and included transformational gifts for Yale Rep from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Robina Foundation, which established the Binger Center for New Theatre. Previously, Ms. Ellinghaus was the Director of Development at off-Broadway's Jean Cocteau Repertory Theatre. She currently chairs the Downtown Arts and Culture Commission in Columbia, Maryland, and sits on the boards of the Inner Arbor Trust and the Howard County Board of Health. A native of Columbia, MD, she lives in Fulton with her husband and two children.

"Debbie's desire to help us strengthen and improve our commitment to present a diverse array of theatrical productions that enrich, nurture, and challenge audiences, artists, and students, is inspiring. I am looking forward to partnering with her as we work together to grow and ensureOlney's legacy in Montgomery County and the state of Maryland; the metropolitan Washington, DC theater community, and in the broader regional theatre field," said Jason Loewith, artistic director.

Susan Finkelstein, Chair of the Board of Directors was equally enthusiastic, saying, "It is with great excitement that we welcome Debbie to the OTC family. She brings a depth of fundraising experience and an enthusiastic perspective that will help build and strengthen important relationships at Olney."

Ms. Ellinghaus succeeds Amy Marshall, who ended her tenure earlier this summer.
