Everyman Theatre's celebrated Salon Series returns for a fourth season with five plays written by new, exciting voices in the theatrical landscape, including two Baltimore area natives. Five contemporary works will be performed as intimate stage readings for the first time in Baltimore, and feature emerging women playwrights and direction by the female members of the Theatre's Resident Company.

Highlights include an exclusive evening with DC-based playwright Caleen Sinnette Jennings showcasing her newest works, including the Everyman-commissioned third chapter of the Queens Girl repertoire-the first two of which are closing out Everyman's '18/'19 season. Hosted in the social setting of Everyman's second-floor rehearsal hall, patrons will enjoy cocktails and conversation on select Monday evenings: January 21, March 18, April 1, April 29, and May 20, 2019, starting at 6:00 PM.

"We celebrate the creativity and community created by these plays and the women who wrote them. Everyman's mission strives to provide diverse perspectives and accessible shows to everyone," says Resident Company Member Dawn Ursula, Director of Jump. "It's more important than ever to amplify female voices-especially minority women. "

The plays are performed as informal readings in the comfort of Everyman's spacious rehearsal hall. The experience gives actors and directors opportunities to make gutsy choices and showcases each director from the Resident Company's aesthetic and perspective. Ranging from light-hearted and hilarious to poignant and heartfelt, this season's captivating lineup promises entertaining, social evenings of theatre exploring a spectrum of characters experiencing themes of love, loss, family, and finding one's identity in the midst of heartache and struggle.

The Salon Series offers an accessible, affordable approach to theatre with pre- and post-show cocktail hours, where audience members and performers mingle and chat about the work in a relaxed environment-with cash bar hosted by Everyman Theatre. Cocktail hour starts at 6:00 PM. Readings begin promptly at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20 per show, or $90 for the 5-show series. Purchase tickets online at EverymanTheatre.org.
