Cockpit's Court Jesters Young People's Theatre to Present SEUSSICAL, JR., Now thru 7/21

Enjoy the world of Dr. Seuss as The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including JoJo, a Who child who gets in trouble for thinking too many 'thinks.' "Seussical, Jr.," a whimsical musical comedy will be performed by Cockpit's Court Jesters Young People's Theatre today, July 12-21. Performances will be held in the Administration Building (formerly the J Bldg.) Lecture Hall at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard, Rosedale. All seats are $8 and tickets are available from the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS (2787).

Based on the book by Tony Award winners' Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty and co-conceived by Eric Idle, "Seussical, Jr." brings the wonderful characters of the Dr. Seuss series to the stage. Cockpit in Court's production features The Cat in the Hat (Kelsie Hicks of Severna Park), JoJo (Olivia Aubele of Perry Hall), Horton the Elephant (Zach Miller of Baltimore), Gertrude McFuzz (Nicole Smith of Lutherville), Mayzie (Caroline Halligan of Baltimore), Mr. Mayor (Yaki Weingarten of Baltimore), Mrs. Mayor (Rhiannon Owen of Nottingham), Sour Kangaroo (Erin Sullivan of Edgewood) and Young Kangaroo (Maggie Moloney of Bel Air). Josh Schoff of Dundalk, Brendon Morrison of Perry Hall, Allison Naglieri of Parkville and Joey Bird of Phoenix play the Wickershams. Nicole Arrison of Bel Air, Victoria Caldwell of Joppa, Tiffany Flaharty of Abingdon, Megan Koncurat of Bel Air and Rachel Miller of Baltimore are the Bird Girls.

Ensemble cast for "Seussical, Jr." are: Erin, Evelyn, Maeve and Nora Acerno of Bel Air, Gracie Aubele of Perry Hall, Andrew Boerenof Rosedale, Wesley Brown of White Marsh, Zachary and Matthew Byrd of Halethorpe, Natalie Dixon of Annapolis, Kelsey Feeney of Bel Air, , Theo Halligan of Baltimore, Sammy Jungwirth of Nottingham, William Macsherry of Towson, Julie and Jamie Morgereth of Kingsville, Cameron and Avery Phillips of White Marsh, Emily Small of Parkville and Matthew Trulli of Abingdon.

Liz Boyer Hunnicutt is the director, Julie Parrish is the musical director, James Hunnicutt is the choreographer and Diane Smith is the technical director.
