Daniel’s talent goes from writing a full musical to turning memes into songs

Andrew Nelin, senior Music Theatre major from VA, was a finalist at the second season of BroadwayWorld’s Next On Stage competition.

Next up we have Lauren Tidmore, from Orwigsburg, PA. She has graduated with a BFA in Acting, with a minor in Dance, and is one of the sweetest artists I’ve met my first semester at BW. 

As we got closer and closer to the beginning of classes, every new guideline imposed a harder restriction to how the University would be able to put on this show.

This is chapter 2 of a?oeIa??ve Graduated! Now What?a?? a series in which I interview recent Baldwin Wallace graduates from arts related majors, so that we can all hear about their experiences, and even learn from their advices. 

Welcome to the first chapter of the 'I've Graduated! Now What?' series! As I'm now officially a senior, I'm thinking about my next steps after I leave college. And what better way to learn more than from listening from experience? 

Have you ever thought about the fact that there are musicals being produced in Brazil? Both Broadway adaptations and original work? Thanks to these shows, many are being exposed to the art form we love so much, myself included! 

I came back home to Brazil for my spring break and never went back to Baldwin Wallace University. Because of the pandemic, there is a travel ban imposed by the US to Brazilians, preventing me from returning to campus this fall.

Something good does come from bad, and that is what the pandemic is teaching us and the industry

But this Freedom Summer that youa??re going to read all about is a new musical written by, now Baldwin Wallace music theatre alumni, based in the events that took place in the summer of 1964.  

Baldwin Wallace was the first University to secure the rights for producing Kinky Boots in 2019.

Do you know that feeling when you love the arts so much, but you don't really want to pursue them as a career, but you also don't want to let them go? Well, let me tell you something: Arts Management & Entrepreneurship is the major for you. 

How did this Brazilian girl find her way into writing blog posts for BroadwayWorld? To be honest, sometimes, I find myself asking this question as well.
