Based on the 19th century novel by Harold Frederic, Copperhead is a different kind of Civil War movie -- not about the battles fought on the front, but rather about the price the war exacted at home.

Cycling enthusiasts are invited to a talk and booksigning with award-winning sports journalist Richard Moore at Rapha Cycle Club New York City before the worldwide film premiere of Slaying the Badger, Moore's retelling of the 1986 Tour de France rivalry between American Greg LeMond and Frenchman Bernard Hinault. Moore will draw from his extensive first-person interviews with LeMond, Hinault, and their teammates to offer insight into cycling's greatest rivalry and preview scenes from the movie. Established in Sun Valley, Idaho in 2008, the Festival features films that raise awareness of important issues facing women here and abroad. This year's series of films were specifically chosen for screening at the Wilmette Theatre by the Festival's founder, Peggy Elliot Goldwyn.

BroadwayWorld previously reported that Academy Award-winning writer and director Quentin Tarantino will be hosting a live, staged reading of his new screenplay THE HATEFUL EIGHT later this month in Los Angeles. And we have even better news today! Deadline writes that the reading, originally scheduled for April 24 at the LA County Museum of Art, will now be held on April 19 at the Theatre at the Ace Hotel downtown.

This spring, the Museum of Arts and Design presents its latest cinema series, Go Nightclubbing Archive, featuring selections from a historic video archive of the burgeoning New York punk scene from 1975 to 1980. In partnership with NYU's Fales Library, which recently acquired the archive, MAD will premiere ten individual screenings that draw from over 200 hours of remastered footage by Emily Armstrong and Pat Ivers.
