Many people will be giving thanks this week with the arrival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's' Love Never Dies' to Little Rock's Robinson Performance Hall. The extravagant sequel to the Phantom Of The Opera is a musical and visual holiday treat. The book was written by Ben Elton with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Glenn Slater. Though it is a sequel, it's not a sequel because you can enjoy this musical without ever having seen the original. However, the majority of the crowd were obviously Phans, Phantom of the Opera fans.

It's wonderful to have this iconic musical based on the French revolution return to Arkansas, especially to Little Rock. The city's name is derived from La Petite Roche (the 'little rock' in French), a small rock formation on the south bank of the Arkansas River that was used as a navigational landmark for early river travelers. It seems fitting that this landmark musical grace the newly refurbished Robinson Performance Hall with it's own redesigned production.

Getting that first National tour seems like a right of passage among Broadway's next generation of stars. Sydney Patrick could not be more excited to be on that path while starring as Lauren in the National tour of Kinky Boots. Her incredibly powerful voice, brilliant timing and adept physical comedy make her a star on the rise.

Kinky Boots struts it's stuff right into Little Rock. The 2013 Tony winner for Best musical is a joyous, funny and timely show that entertains even the straightest of laces. It's amazing how much more important the message of the show seems right now.
