Fredericksburg, VA-based country/Americana singer-songwriter Karen Jonas is set to independently release her new album, Butter, on June 1, 2018. With four kids at home and a touring schedule of 150+ shows per year, Jonas has a full plate. “Whether I'm ?nishing up a gig atmidnight or getting pounced on by my kids at 6:30 a.m., I usually feel like my life is a circus,” she says. “So I started writing songs about my circus.” She shines a light on the triumphs and challenges of that busy life with Butter.

Jack White released his third solo album Boarding House Reach via Third Man / XL Recordings. At once both a huge critical and commercial success, the album would go on to become White's third consecutive solo album to top the Billboard 200 Chart, while simultaneously delighting critics with its sense of sonic adventure. To celebrate the release of Boarding House Reach, Jack White came to London a few days after its release to give UK fans their first glimpse of his electrifying new live show and his powerful new touring outfit, which features Carla Azar on drums, Quincy McCrary and Neal Evans on keys, and Dominic Davis on bass guitar. The American Film Institute (AFI) today announced that Julia Roberts will present the nation's highest honor for a career in film, the AFI Life Achievement Award, to her longtime friend and colleague George Clooney at the 46th AFI Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute honoring the actor, director, writer and producer. This historic event will take place Thursday, June 7, 2018, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, CA.

Respected Dallas, TX-based singer/songwriter/producer/musician-of-many-trades Salim Nourallah is set to release a sprawling double-album, Somewhere South of Sane, this fall on Palo Santo Records. The release date and more details about the album will be announced soon. The 21 tracks that comprise the four-sidedSomewhere South of Sane are what Salim calls, “the work of a functional crazy person.” Nourallah is equal parts songwriter and producer, creating a shifting sonic landscape that could easily be mistaken for the work of multiple artists. This is the sound of someone trying to save his own mind. Nourallah did — in the end — and created nothing short of a musical odyssey.

It's no secret that Georgia's film industry has exploded in recent years.  As a result of the tax credit the state offers filmmakers, Georgia has become the world's largest producer of film.   Last year alone, the film industry generated nearly $10 billion dollars for Georgia's economy. Filmmaking has added over 90,000 jobs in our state and with economic success like that, it's clear that film is here to stay.

The record is available now exclusively on vinyl, limited to 1000 copies, via Turntable Kitchen's SOUNDS DELICIOUS subscription series. Hot Jazz Productions and The McKittrick Hotel join forces with the World Music Institute to present the first annual New York Brass Festival, a ten-hour marathon celebration of brass band music. The Festival is scheduled for Sunday, June 10 from 2:00 pm to midnight on two stages at Chelsea's McKittrick Hotel (530 West 27 Street,) home of the immersive theater spectacle Sleep No More.

Filming has begun on the ten-episode sixth season of CINEMAX's high-octane drama series STRIKE BACK, which will be shot entirely in Malaysia. Returning stars Warren Brown (“Luther,” “The Dark Knight Rises”), Daniel MacPherson (“A Wrinkle in Time”) and Alin Sumarwata (“Neighbours,” “Burning Man”) are joined by new cast members Jamie Bamber (“Battlestar Galactica,” “Monday Mornings”) and Yasemin Allen (“Water and Fire”).

Called Circus of Life, it presents a side of Kinky that few would have suspected in the halcyon days of his Texas Jewboys, laying perhaps legit claim to the title “The Leonard Cohen of Texas.” On July 3, 2018, he will release it on his own terms and on his own Echo Hill Records.
