Charlotte Jones' Airswimming will get its area premiere as part of the seventh annual Capital Fringe Festival. Inspired by true events, Airswimming tells the story of two women who are incarcerated in an asylum for sexual deviancy and having a child out of wedlock in 1920s England. Forgotten by their families, the two women form a bond over their 50 year imprisonment in an alternate reality inspired by the one and only Doris Day.

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) today thanked audiences, Festival partners, sponsors and volunteers, as it reflected on the success of its 20th Birthday Out of the Box Festival for Children. The Festival took place at QPAC and other Cultural Centre venues between 12 and 17 June.

Electric guitarist Eric Johnson will kick off his first ever solo UK tour at the Holmfirth Picturedrome tomorrow night (Friday 6th July). Originally a 5-date tour, Johnson added a second London date at the Leicester Square Theatre, due to phenomenal public demand. This tour will showcase material from his current album "Up Close", and from his rich back catalogue.

Polarity Ensemble Theatre's Dionysos Cup Festival of New Plays has apparently reached the proper vintage to bear multiple fruit. This summer two scripts developed in the Dionysos Cup series will see their world premieres playing simultaneously, the series itself adds video thanks to an award from the Saints, another Dionysos Cup play has gone on to further development with the Goodman Theatre, and Polarity will award this year's Cup to a worthy and entertaining new script.

The Palace Theatre and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats announce that Northeast Delta Dental Stadium will serve as a venue for a Summer Concert at the Ballpark. The Beach Party Boys a tribute to The Beach Boys and The Jersey Kid a tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons will take the stage at the home field of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on August 11th at 7:00 pm.

CAPA and Attila Glatz Concert Productions present 'Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy,' the international concert phenomenon featuring Nobuo Uematsu and Masashi Hamauzu's stirring music from the award-winning, role-playing video game, Final Fantasy.

The 39 Steps, a fast-paced comedy whodunit, opens July 18 at the Peterborough Players and runs through July 29. Patrick Barlow adapted the play from the novel by John Buchan and the film of Alfred Hitchcock. Tickets are $37, except $39 on Saturdays. A special ticket price of $25 is offered to anyone 35 years or younger for the Saturday performance on July 21.

A world-premier created by a Royal Opera House and Glyndebourne artist is embarking on a UK-wide tour this July, culminating in a performance at London Pleasance on 15th July. The Dallas Opera has announced that the company has been awarded a $250,000 grant from the Texas Instruments Foundation, which recently approved grants totaling $1.5 million to a dozen diverse North Texas arts and cultural organizations. According to the foundation, the purpose of these awards is to "enrich the quality of life in TI's headquarters community."
