The Dallas Opera announced today that the key role of Juliana Bordereau in the company's 25th Anniversary production of Dominick Argento's THE ASPERN PAPERS will be sung by Canadian-born French soprano Alexandra Deshorties. Ms. Deshorties made her Dallas Opera debut in October of 2009 as Desdemona in Giuseppe Verdi's Otello, in the production that opened the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

'YouTube sensation, chanteuse and high-end vocal coach' Miranda Sings is making yet another appearance at Birdland on Thursday, September 27 at 6pm. This event is part of the Broadway at Birdland concert series, which showcases performers and composers from the Great White Way and environs. Miranda's special guests have yet to be announced, but suffice to say they will be performers from the Broadway community thick-skinned enough to withstand her vigorous critiques and questionable pitch.

The Hollywood Bowl presents, for the first time, Pixar in Concert, offering 'visually stunning clips and memorable scenes from the studio's 13 feature films shown in high-definition on the venue's big screens,' Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 3, 4 and 5, at 8 pm. The scores from each of Pixar's movies, including its latest release Brave, will be performed by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, led by Thomas Wilkins.

This September, for the first time in eleven years, Chicago Opera Theater (COT) will present an opera in the fall: a new production of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Magic Flute. This is the first new production of The Magic Flute in Chicago in 17 years, the last being Chicago Opera Theater's production in 1995 at the Athenaeum Theatre. The opera will feature the Chicago premiere of the English translation by Jeremy Sams. The Magic Flute performs at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park on September 15, 19, 21, and 23.

After almost ten years as the jewel in the Town of Jupiter's crown, The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre (BRIFT) announced plans to move to a new, as yet to be determined, location. BRIFT is presently situated on the development site for Harbourside at the corner of U.S. Highway One and Indiantown Road. The building is scheduled for demolition as part of that project.

The Cooperstown Summer Music Festival will present Flute Fest at the Otesaga on Thursday, August 2 at 7:30 pm. The concert, which is free and open to all, will feature the flute choir from the NY Summer Music Festival's prestigious International Flute Institute. Several of the Institute's instructors also will perform, including Guo-Liang Han, Principal Flute of the China National Symphony Orchestra; Henrik Wiese, Principal Flute of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra; and Linda Chesis, Festival flutist, and professor of flute and chair of the woodwind department at the Manhattan School of Music.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has announced the creation of The Florence Kopleff Choral Administrator Chair in perpetuity as a tribute to American Contralto Florence Kopleff who died on July 24, 2012. The impact of Miss Kopleff - once called the "greatest living alto" by Time magazine - on American music and the Atlanta Symphony will be felt for generations to come. Jeffrey Baxter, current Choral Administrator for the Atlanta Symphony, longtime member of the ASO Chorus, and a friend of Miss Kopleff, will be the first holder of the chair.
