The concert includes Brahms' final work for orchestra, his Double Concerto for Violin and Cello, featuring BSO Concertmaster Jonathan Carney and Principal Cellist Dariusz Skoraczewski. The concert also includes one of Mozart's great symphonies, No. 35, the "Haffner" and Strauss' masterful tone poem Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks.

This October, The Hub TV Network will once again celebrate Halloween by hosting a month-long 'Haunted Hub' lineup of spine-tingling television, movies, online games and a sweepstakes that kids can enjoy with their entire family. The cornerstone of the 'Haunted Hub' lineup is the season premiere of the 2012 Daytime Emmy Award nominated and critically acclaimed 'R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour: The Series' on Saturday, October 13 (6 p.m. ET).

On October 4 at 7 PM, world-renowned, classically trained German cabaret singer and Broadway star Ute Lemper will debut a new, original song cycle inspired by the love poems of 20th century Chilean poet Pablo Neruda (1904-1973). Conceived and composed by Lemper herself in collaboration with Marcelo Nisinman, Ute Lemper Sings Pablo Neruda will continue at Joe's Pub throughout the month of October with dates on October 4, 5, 6, 30 and 31. Salsation Theatre Company has announced a one night only engagement of WORD UP! POETRY SLAM at the Gorilla Tango Theatre Bucktown (1919 N Milwaukee Ave. Chicago, IL 60647) on October 6th at 7:30pm. Salsation is producing their ongoing poetry slam with six Chicago area poets presenting personal pieces around the theme entitled "So What?! Keep Going!" Rock legend Stevie Nicks in collaboration with musical wizard Dave Stewart have co-produced and co-directed 'In Your Dreams - Stevie Nicks,' a documentary portrait of the illusive Nicks as they embark on a musical journey to write and record the critically acclaimed album 'In Your Dreams.' The film will premiere at the 35th International Hamptons Film Festival on Sunday, October 7th and at the 20th annual Mill Valley Film Festival on Friday, October 12th which has already sold out.

America redneckognized pint-sized Alana Thompson and her self-proclaimed crazy family with HERE COMES HONEY BOO. In response, TLC has ordered additional episodes of the hit series, as well as three HOLLAday specials (Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas). The show, which premiered in early August 2012, has averaged 2.3 million viewers to date. Its first half of the season ends Wednesday, September 26 at 10 PM ET/PT with a special one-hour episode titled 'It Is What It Is.'

The Public Theater announced today that Public Theater alumna and Academy Award nominee Anne Hathaway, who played Viola in the critically acclaimed 2009 Shakespeare in the Park production of Twelfth Night, will perform a one-night-only concert, Perfectly Marvelous: The Songs of Cabaret with Anne Hathaway and Friends, on Wednesday, October 24 at 7 p.m. at Joe's Pub to celebrate and support The Public Theater's revitalization of its downtown home at Astor Place. Dry with a Twist Theatrics have announced their production L'illusion Comique, directed by Kevin P. Joyce. L'illusion Comique will play a three night limited engagement at Under St. Mark's (94 Saint Marks PL., New York, NY 10009). Performances in New York begin Thursday, October 18 and continue through to Saturday, October 20. Opening Night is Thursday, October 18 (8 p.m.)
