Portland Center Stage (PCS) will present the world premiere of the new musical, Somewhere in Time, based on the novel by renowned author Richard Matheson (I Am Legend, What Dreams May Come), which was made into the hit film starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. Somewhere in Time begins previews on May 28, with opening night set for May 31, 2013.

The Orion Ensemble, Chicago's nationally recognized and critically acclaimed chamber music ensemble, continues its 20th Anniversary Season with "A Night at the Opera,' featuring works by two well-known composers of opera along with a piano transcription of an opera excerpt. Performances take place November 25 at Fox Valley Presbyterian Church in Geneva, December 2 at Music Institute of Chicago's Nichols Concert Hall in Evanston and December 5 at the PianoForte Salon at the Fine Arts Building in Chicago. Roger Chase on viola and Stephen Boe on violin join Orion for this program.

On Sunday October 14, 2012, Broadway Workshop hosted a one day musical theatre master class with Tony Award winner Christian Borle (Peter and the Starcatcher, NBC's SMASH). 18 lucky Broadway Workshop students between the ages of 13-18 participated in this 4 hour class. In addition to working with Mr. Borle on song interpretation and audition technique, students also took part in a dance master class with season 1 SMASH associate choreographer, Valerie Salgado. The sold out workshop was held at Ripley Grier Studios and is part of Broadway Workshop's fall master class series.

Mandel will be closing out November with four hilarious comedy shows at Comix, starting Thursday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m., and continuing Friday, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. General admission tickets are on sale now for $20 ($30 the day of), and VIP admission tickets for $40 ($50 the day of). A two-drink minimum applies to all tickets. The show is 21+ and is for mature audiences only.
