Signature Theatre has announced a one-week extension for THE PIANO LESSON by August Wilson and directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson. The production will now play through Sunday, December 16. The production will begin performances on October 30 and open on November 18 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Very limited availability remains for the production's initial run. Tickets during the extension week are $75 each.

The PNC Arts Alive All Access program launched last year is now expanding its discount ticket program to include young people aged 13-25. Designed to make the arts affordable and accessible, the program offers $5 tickets to a wide variety of performing arts events in Columbus. The program originally included ages 13-18, but the eligible age range has now been expanded to include those up to and including age 25.

On Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 7:30pm, The Ware Center presents Cellist Jerome Wright and pianist Glen Sales in benefit concert. They will be performing works by Bach, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff.

Sierra Stages has announced a series of three informal play readings at the Off Center Stage in Grass Valley. Entitled "Off Nights at the Off Center," the series includes the plays: "THE REAL INSPECTOR HOUND" by Tom Stoppard on Tuesday October 30, "THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN" by Martin McDonagh on Wednesday November 7 and "PAINTING CHURCHES" by Tina Howe on Wednesday November 14. All three play readings begin at 7:30 PM. Admission is FREE, but contributions are welcome.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will welcome Linda Eder to the Music Center at Strathmore on November 8 at 8 p.m., who will perform "Songbirds," a program featuring the music of Lena Horne, Etta James, Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland, Eva Cassidy and more. The Broadway National tour of the smash hit Broadway revival WEST SIDE STORY is coming to Portland, Maine. WEST SIDE STORY will open at Merrill Auditorium on November 9th and will be in town for three performances; November 9th at 8pm and November 10th at 2pm and 8pm. Tony Award-winning librettist Arthur Laurents' Broadway direction is recreated for the tour by David Saint, the Associate Director on Broadway. The original Jerome Robbins choreography is reproduced by Tony Award-nominee Joey McKneely (The Boy from Oz, The Life).

'Empanada for a Dream' takes its title from the delicacies that Juan Francisco Villa's mother made that were legendary throughout his Lower East Side neighborhood while he was growing up: Empanadas so good that he would trade all his Batman and X-Men comics for them. In fact, Villa's memoir begins with the warm, fuzzy recollections of childhood and his Colombian family in New York.

Victory Gardens continues its 2012-13 season with the World Premiere of Failure: A Love Story, written by VG Ensemble Playwright Philip Dawkins and directed by Seth Bockley. The production runs November 16 - December 30, 2012 in the Richard Christiansen Theater at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park. Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, the nationally renowned Long Island summer arts day camp, announces new programs for its 46th, 2013 season. These include a three-week session July 22-August 9. This will be in addition to the four-week program beginning June 24 (the regular beginning of the season) and the full seven-week program. There will also be an expansion of the Usdan's Jazz Studies Program with three separate jazz ensembles: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, giving students more personalized attention at their specific levels as well as increased opportunity for performance at the Center's 1,000-seat McKinley Amphitheater. Visiting jazz faculty in 2013 will include Grammy-nominated jazz singer Jane Monheit, an alumna of Usdan's summer program. In addition, in response to popular demand, there will be a new "Technical Theatre" program for 10th to 12th grade students wishing to study theater stage management and set construction.

Former LA Phil Music Director Zubin Mehta returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Tuesday, October 30, at 8 pm. Joining them is thrilling pianist Yuja Wang performing Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1. Also on the program of Romantic Symphonies is a rare performance of Schubert's Third Symphony as well as Brahms' First Symphony. The concert is the first of the LA Phil's Visiting Orchestras series of the 2012/13 season.

Theatre Aspen's Board of Trustees will host an intimate panel discussion on November 8th, featuring distinguished leaders in the theatrical field. The event will be held in conjunction with the Colorado theatre's quarterly board meeting, being held for the first time in New York City.
