The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company has announced Darling as the winner of its seventh annual New Musical Award. Written by Ryan Scott Oliver and Brett Ryback, Darling is described as a coming-of-age story about a teenager, Ursula Morgan, who leaves behind her upper-class family and finds herself in the seedy underground of Depression-era Boston -- a world of sex, jazz and a mysterious drug called....fairy dust.

On Monday, February 25, the Broadway at Birdland concert series presented the third annual Broadway Belts for PFF, which raised over $70,000 for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. The evening was hosted by Julie Halston, and starred Klea Blackhurst, Linda Lavin, Emily Bergl, Debbie Gravitte, Emma Hunton, Alyssa Paulsen, Robert Creighton, Max von Essen, John McDaniel, and Ed Watts. The show was directed by Carl Andress, with musical direction by Jesse Kissel.

Comix At Foxwoods is proud to welcome one of today's top comedians to the Fox Theater stage at North America's largest resort casino on Friday, May 31 at 9 p.m. Tickets for the highly-anticipated show will be available for presale through Comix and Ticketmaster on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m., and regular tickets will go on sale Friday, Mar. 1 at 10 a.m. Fans can purchase tickets in advance for $30, $45 and $55. The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced complete casting today for the world premiere of OLD-FASHIONED PROSTITUTES (A TRUE ROMANCE). Written, directed, and designed by Richard Foreman who has been working with The Public Theater for more than 36 years, OLD-FASHIONED PROSTITUTES (A TRUE ROMANCE) begins performances in The Public's Martinson Theater on Tuesday, April 30 and runs through Sunday, June 2, with an official press opening on Tuesday, May 7.

Berkshire Theatre Group has announced it will begin accepting submissions beginning March 15, 2013 for the third annual Made in the Berkshires festival, which will occur October 11-13 at both the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield as well as the Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge. The deadline for submissions is May 15.

The Paper Bag Players returns to The Jewish Museum in Saddles and Sunshine, a new theater production for families on Sunday, March 10 at 2 pm. From cowboys and cowgirls greeting the audience with a loud 'Howdy!' to a pie-eating contest and a day in the life of a bowling pin, Saddles and Sunshine will have children and adults alike laughing, clapping and singing along. The Chicago Sinfonietta presents Political Awakenings, a concert that examines how the struggle for freedom expressed during the Arab Spring finds its counterpart with similar awakenings throughout human history. Both Shaheen and Dawson wrote their works with an eye and ear toward the traditional music of their culture. Sinfonietta Music Director Mei-Ann Chen conducts.
