Almeida Theatre Announces THE TURN OF THE SCREW CastingNovember 23, 2012Lindsay Posner returns to the Almeida to direct Rebecca Lenkiewicz' new stage adaptation of Henry James' The Turn of the Screw from 18 January - 16 March 2013, with press night on 24 January. The cast comprises Caroline Bartleet (a woman), Laurence Belcher (Miles), Eoin Geoghegan (a man), Gemma Jones (Mrs. Grose), Anna Madeley (The Governess), Orlando Wells (Sackville) and Isabella Blake, Emilia Jones and Lucy Morton who will alternate the role of Flora. Set within the California prison system, the largest incarcerated population in the world, Oedipus, El Rey shows us gang hierarchy as it collides with fate. The play examines free will and whether the 'curse'of violence plaguing generations can be appeased without an ultimate sacrifice to the gods. Centenary Stage Company's THE WIZARD OF OZ Opens This WeekendNovember 21, 2012Centenary Stage Company will present The Wizard of Oz for their Holiday Musical Spectacular. Opening this Friday the 23rd at 8 p.m., shows are already filling up fast. Audiences can begin the holiday season with a family classic brought to life at the Sitnik Theatre in the David and Carol Lackland Center. Featuring a cast of 50 actors on the stage, The Wizard of Oz is a musical tradition following the story of Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Lion and Toto, too. These beloved characters visit Hackettstown on their way to the Emerald City, as CSC presents the ROYAL SHAKESPEARE COMPANY'S (RSC) adaptation by Frank Gabrielson and John Kane, with Music and Lyrics from the MGM motion picture score by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg. The RSC said this adaptation came about when the Artistic Director of the company asked for a show that could be performed annually over the Christmas season, so this show is especially made for families to celebrate the holiday season.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL Returns to Theatre Memphis for 35th YearNovember 21, 2012The 35th annual production of A Christmas Carol at Theatre Memphis is coming back to the stage with an additional Saturday matinee performance for 2012. The veteran stage actor Barry Fuller returns as Scrooge and a A Christmas Carol director Jason Spitzer returns as well. After record breaking attendence in 2011, the 2012 cast will be scurrying around a London-scrim set that Christopher McCollum, current resident scenic designer at Theatre Memphis, designed for the traditional holiday classic. Patron requests for a family package of tickets to the holiday event have been answered with a new Holiday Family Pack for tickets to A Christmas Carol that are good through December 9, 2012. The package contains two adult and two youth/student tickets for only $60. Additional youth/student tickets can be purchased at the same time as the Pack is purchased for only $10 each. There is a limit to one Holiday Family Pack per family.

New Jersey Symphony Sets Winter Festival for January 4–6 & 25–27November 21, 2012This January, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO) presents its 2013 Winter Festival: Air and the Atmosphere-the third season of a multi-year odyssey spotlighting the symbolic power of natural elements that have inspired composers for centuries.
