The odyssey of Jean Valjean from embittered convict to love and redemption has captivated readers and theatregoers for generations. On Monday, April 29th, at New York City's Pierre Hotel, the National Corporate Theatre Fund (NCTF) will honor Vanessa Williams, American Express and five resident theatres celebrating their 50th anniversary - Actors Theatre of Louisville, Guthrie Theater, Hartford Stage, Seattle Repertory Theatre and Trinity Repertory Company - at NCTF's annual Chairman's Awards Gala. Actor George Takei, star of the Broadway-bound musical Allegiance, emcees the event.

The Guthrie Theater today announced complete casting for its world premiere of the bittersweet romance The Primrose Path by Crispin Whittell based upon the novel Home of the Gentry by Ivan Turgenev. The production will be directed by Roger Rees and will feature actors Kyle Fabel (Broadway: The Farnsworth Invention; Off-Broadway: A Free Man of Color) as Theodore Lavretsky, Suzy Kohane (Acadia Repertory Theatre; University of Minnesota/Guthrie BFA Actor Training Program) as Liza and Sally Wingert (Broadway/West End, London: La Bete; Guthrie: Other Desert Cities, Appomattox) as Maria.

A Spotlight Series features the return engagements of Itzhak Perlman, Chris Botti and Joshua Bell and the newly added Classic Rock Series finds the orchestra at the Paramount Theatre presenting the music from Tommy, post-Beatle music of John, Paul, George and Ringo, and a tribute to Woodstock.

The third exhibition in the second season of Raw/Cooked, on view at the Brooklyn Museum April 12-July 7, showcases the work of Williamsburg artist Michael Ballou. Ballou is the eighth artist in the continuing Raw/Cooked series, presented with support from Bloomberg and highlighting the work of under-the-radar Brooklyn artists. The Museum offers each of the participating artists a variety of unconventional spaces in which they may make art interventions, creating projects that draw inspiration from the architecture of the building and/or works from the Museum's collection.

So Polite, the debut EP from UK-based composer and songwriter Sasha Siem is out now on Gearbox Records. The EP will be available as a special edition vinyl and will be distributed widely via AWAL. In conjunction with the release, Siem recently appeared London at the Royal Opera House and New York City at Le Poisson Rouge on March 2. Her upcoming full length album "Most Of The Boys" is due this summer with production duties handled in Iceland by Valgeir Sigurðsson.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that its production of the world premiere of Jesse Eisenberg's The Revisionist, starring Eisenberg and Vanessa Redgrave, and directed by Kip Fagan, will extend for three weeks though Sunday, April 21, at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street. (The Revisionist was originally scheduled to run through March 31.)

Berkshire Theatre Group has announced it will begin accepting submissions beginning March 15, 2013 for the third annual Made in the Berkshires festival, which will occur October 11-13 at both the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield as well as the Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge. The deadline for submissions is May 15.
