Howard County Arts Council (HCAC) has announced the 12 sites and sculptures selected for ARTsites 2013, its second public art initiative in Howard County, MD. The sculptures will be installed in April 2013 and will remain in place for one year.

The Ensemble Theatre will debut its first production by award winning playwright Charles Smith as its 2012-2013 season continues. The show will be directed by visiting artist Chuck Smith, resident director at Chicago's Goodman Theatre.

The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, New York's premiere eco-friendly/socially-conscious theatre, music and film festival, has announced its dates and theaters for 2013 and is currently accepting theatre submissions through January 19th. Running from May 30th through June 23rd, the 2013 festivity is scheduled to take place at the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street) and The Robert Moss Theatre (440 Lafayette Street).

Sony Masterworks announces the release of Presente, the new album by Latin Grammy-winning band Bajofondo, available March 5, 2013. The album's title refers to what the band is at the present moment: a stirring mix of tango, milonga, folklore, rock, hip-hop, electronica, jazz, classical, and a world of sounds from the Rio de la Plata, the river that separates and unites Argentina and Uruguay. One of the most acclaimed live acts in the world, Bajofondo's Presente is also the biggest 'present' (both in size and scope) the band has delivered to die-hard fans and new converts: an epic 21-track high energy tour de force that blends a multitude of traditionally dichotomous genres seamlessly.

ArcheDream for HUMANKIND is performing DEEP BLUE at the Sedgwick Theater of Mt Airy (7137 Germantown Ave. Philadelphia, 19119). DEEP BLUE is ArcheDream's longest running, globe trotting, and evolving show (since 2004). The performance has puppets, dancing, music, masks, and costumes created by our Philadelphia-based artists, performers and musicians. It is described as a captivating show that inspires people of all ages.

From 5 February 2013, joining the previously announced Gavin Lee who will play Jerry Travers in the West End hit musical Top Hat are Broadway actress Kristen Beth Williams as Dale Tremont, Olivier award nominee Alex Gaumond as Alberto Beddini and Clive Hayward as Horace Hardwick. Vivien Parry continues as Madge Hardwick and Stephen Boswell as Horace's valet Bates.

Tamsin Greig and John Sessions will lead the cast in William Boyd's debut play, directed by Nina Raine, which opens at Hampstead Theatre at the end of February. Other members of this outstanding cast include Jonathan Bailey, Natasha Little, Eve Ponsonby and Catrin Stewart.

With many shows pushing back their Broadway opening nights, PRINCE OF BROADWAY, BIG FISH, THE VELOCITY OF AUTUMN and THE MISS FIRECRACKER CONTEST are still on track for their upcoming productions.

There has been buzz about the Public's starry INTO THE WOODS making the transition from Shakespeare in the Park to Broadway, as HAIR and THE MERCHANT OF VENICE did in recent seasons, but today producer Joey Parnes tells the New York Times that due to scheduling conflicts, the production will not transfer.
