The York Theatre Company has announced a new addition to their educational arm: Bespoke Musicals, a program that pairs teams of emerging writers, chosen by The York Theatre Company, with companies of students from musical theatre college training programs. For its maiden voyage, The York is proud to be collaborating with Marymount Manhattan College (Patricia Hoag Simon, Music Theatre Coordinator).

The Douglas Morrisson Theatre opens its 2013-14 Season of Mystery & Romance with a bang in February with 'Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure' by Steven Dietz. The play, based on the original 1899 script by William Gillette and Arthur Conan Doyle, won the 2007 Edgar Award for Best Mystery Play. Directed by Kendall Tieck, the play features an ensemble of Bay Area performers including Craig Dickerson as Sherlock Homes, Scott G. Hartman as Dr. Watson, Steve Schwartz as Moriarty, J. Geoffrey Colton as The King of Bohemia, Sarah Klaren as Irene Adler, Brian O'Connor as James Larrabee, Eve McElheney as Madge Larrabee and Bruce Kaplan as Sid Prince.

With panache and pedal-to-the-metal intensity, Molly Smith Metzler's culture clash comedy-of-bad-manners, ELEMENO PEA, squares off two sisters with a wealthy employer, unleashing a succession of secrets in a brutal dissection of significant moments and how they can launch or derail a life. Unfolding in real time, this hearty class system stew transitions fluidly from hilarity to poignancy and offers an amusing morality tale about the compromising consequences of money's seductive power. Mark Valdez (Learn to Be Latina) returns to Mixed Blood to direct the regional premiere, which opens February 22 and runs through March 17, 2013 at Mixed Blood's historic firehouse theatre on the West Bank, 1501 S. Fourth St. in Minneapolis.

This Saturday, January 12, 2013, will mark the one year anniversary of celebrity magician/illusionist Wayne Alan owning The Historic North Theatre Performing Arts Center. On the 12th, at 8:00 PM Wayne Alan's performance of his show, Magic of the Masters, the World's Most Famous Illusions will mark the occasion. Canal Park Playhouse presents the return of PERFECT CATCH: A THROWMANTIC COMEDY, created and performed by Michael Karas and Jen Slaw. Kyle DeSantis, President of Drury Lane, 100 Drury Lane, announced today that the facility is undergoing an extensive renovation, with Phase 1 to be completed by March, 2013 and Phase 2 to be completed by mid-2014. Phase 1 includes the renovation of the 27,000 square foot Grand Ballroom, the Main Lobby and Cocktail Lounge. The inviting new spaces feature a sophisticated European design aesthetic with top-of-the-line furnishings, original artwork and elegant décor. Phase 2 will include the renovation of the Courtyard Restaurant, French Room, English Room, and the Theatre Bar.

The first visible sign of the return of Cirque du Soleil and its live production OVO in Melbourne is the raising of its trademark blue and yellow Big Top and the Cirque du Soleil village. The event, which took place today at Melbourne Docklands, marks the return of the trademark Big Top after a 4 year absence. A team of 60-plus men and women hoisted more than 100 steel poles from the ground up to raise the Big Top tent.

Open Stage of Harrisburg Executive Artistic Director Donald Alsedek directs another installment of August Wilson's acclaimed Century Cycle of plays exploring the Black experience in America Following at the intimate Angino Family Theatre. The Warner Stage Company presents the Tony Award winning comedy musical mystery CURTAINS, January 26 - February 3 at the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre.

One of the most established names in Hollywood and Las Vegas - internationally renowned comedian, actor and entertainer Don Rickles - has signed for a sixth consecutive year at The Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Rickles will make two weekend appearances at The Orleans in 2013: April 13-14 and September 28-29.
