McGuire Furniture has collaborated with artist Jordan Betten of Lost Art to create a one of a kind works of art. Taking five of McGuire's most iconic chairs, he re- envisioned them with a rock and roll vibe - as he does for his fashion clients. They will be on display at McGuire San Francisco for the month of February and Baker Knapp & Tubbs' Los Angeles showroom in March.

The hallways of the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) were buzzing with excitement on Saturday, January 12 as some 150 area children ages 7 and older arrived with music in tow to audition for the roles of the seven von Trapp children in Franklin Performing Arts Company's upcoming production of The Sound of Music. The open auditions also cast a large number of ensemble roles. FPAC will present the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical theater classic, with professional orchestra, on Saturday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, March 3 at 2 p.m. at Franklin's Thomas D. Mercer Auditorium.

Lattice Boykin McKoy was inspired to write her new book, "Marked Moments" (published by Trafford Publishing) after listening to President Barack Obama's speeches during his first presidential candidacy. "As I watched him, he called out in me such joy, hope and promise for the world," she explains. "I thought, this is the President that my father, a minister, had told me God would be sending. This is the leader that Dr. Martin Luther King had talked about. His energetic and wonderful oratory made me want to respond to him and to be a part of his team." It was this very reason that McKoy shares now her new collection of poetry of marked moments of history through poetry.
