Aurora Swing Nights invites patrons to cut loose and have fun with another Flashback to the 70's concert on Saturday, June 16 at 8:00 PM. The Metro Jazz Club will be giving the big band treatment in their throwback tribute to such legendary recording artists as Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Chicago, and many more favorites. Come decked out in bell bottoms and fringe, because with all the Rock, Disco and Soul things are about to get funky at Aurora Theatre.

Gettysburg State will present, I Am My Own Wife, the Pulitzer Prize-winning true story of Charlotte von Mahlsdorf, a German transvestite who survived the horrors of Nazi Germany and Communist East Germany. Written by Doug Wright, directed by Rebecca O'Leary, and starring Eric Jones, I Am My Own Wife is a vivid portrait of a unique person that is at once intellectual, funny and poignant.

Minnetonka Theatre will welcome back alumni cast members from past shows to celebrate the theatre's 10 Year anniversary of producing shows under artistic director R. Kent Knutson. The Gala Concert, Raise the Curtain, will reunite some of the theatre's greatest casts from shows including Les Miserables, Phantom, Legally Blonde, Hello, Dolly, Annie Get Your Gun, and many more. The best and the brightest stars of past productions will sing to celebrate 10 years of great theatre.

Japan Society has announced Dr. Miwako Tezuka will take over directorship of Japan Society's Gallery from Joe Earle, who retires effective September 30. A Columbia University alumnus and NYC-based curator specializing in contemporary Japanese art, Tezuka will be the first Japanese director of Japan Society Gallery. Her tenure begins July 2, 2012.

This summer, Barrel of Monkeys (BOM) will transform its classic 'That's Weird, Grandma' in to 'That's Weird, Abuelita' (TWA) featuring stories in Spanish, English and through movement, Wednesdays and Saturdays July 25 through August 18 at the Logan Square Arts Center, 2800 N. Milwaukee Ave., second floor. TWA is appropriate for all ages and speakers of any language. BOM Artistic Director Molly Brennan and Emilio Williams are co-directors.
