QPAC's Associate Director - Strategy Rebecca Lamoin, is one of ten international arts professionals who have been invited to participate in the 2012-14 DeVos Institute's Summer International Fellowship at the Kennedy Center. Ms Lamoin will be the first ever Australian involved in this prestigious program.

This week's shows feature clarinetist and composer Paquito D'Rivera performing the music of celebrated Argentinean composer Astor Piazzolla. The winner of nine GRAMMY Awards, D'Rivera is celebrated both for his artistry in Latin jazz and his achievements as a classical composer. He is also the first artist to win Latin GRAMMYs in both Classical and Latin Jazz categories - for Stravinsky's Historia del Soldado (2003) and Brazilian Dreams (2001). His numerous recordings include more than 30 solo albums.

ANNIE, the new production of the classic Tony Award-winning musical, is now on sale. ANNIE, which features a Tony Award-winning score by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin and a Tony Award-winning book by Thomas Meehan, will be directed by three-time Tony Award-winner James Lapine and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler. The production begins previews on October 3 at the Palace Theatre (1567 Broadway at 47th Street). Opening night is Thursday, November 8.

The Manatee Players today announced a joint partnership with stage and screen actress Robin Givens to workshop a new play with music, JOY IN THE MORNING, written by Ms. Givens. The play, with cast coordination by Manatee Players' Producing Artistic Director Rick Kerby, will be work shopped and directed by Ms. Givens during the month of July at the Manatee Players. Performances at the Manatee Players will be held at 7:30 p.m. on August 2 and at 8 p.m. on August 3 as a benefit for the Manatee Players.

Georges is the suave owner of a glitzy drag club on the French Riviera. Partnered romantically with his high-strung star performer, Albin (who goes by the stage name Zaza), the pair live a charmed life-for better or worse. They get a bit of both when Georges' son, Jean-Michel, turns up engaged to the daughter of a conservative right-wing politician who's coming to dinner. Georges reluctantly agrees to masquerade as 'normal' when he meets the family of the bride-to-be. But Albin has other plans, with hilarious results.
