WWD reported that stores posted soft December sales as consumers held back their holiday purchases until the last minute, and in many cases did without them.

Isabel Marant's first West Coast store has opened on Melrose Place in West Hollywood. The 1,100-square-foot store is the French designer's second in the U.S. and 11th worldwide.

Private equity firm Goode Partners has taken a stake in Philadelphia-based Sneaker Villa Inc. which has more than doubled the size of its store base this past year. Goode, based out of New York, has had success with smaller retailers, having previously taken stakes in Intermix and All Saints.
