Multi award-winning artists 59 Productions, the team behind the video design of the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games, have joined forces with the BBC Proms and internationally acclaimed cellist, Sol Gabetta, to create a brand new film, 'Cello', to celebrate the 2016 BBC Proms season. The film, and a 'making of' video, will be featured on the BBC Proms website and BBC iPlayer as well as shared widely on social media platforms.

The Original Theatre Company and Salisbury Playhouse in association with Eastbourne Theatres will present the national tour of Emlyn Williams's psychological thriller, NIGHT MUST FALL, directed by Luke Sheppard and starring Gwen Taylor as Mrs Bramson, Daragh O'Malley as Inspector Belsize, Niamh McGrady as Olivia and Will Featherstone as Dan.  The tour will begin at Devonshire Park Theatre in Eastbourne on 19 August, with a National press night on Wednesday 7 September at Salisbury Playhouse.  BroadwayWorld brings you a first look at the teaser video below!

Rice is best known for writing the lyrics to THE LION KING, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, ALADDIN, EVITA and more. Rice will be in Auburn for rehearsals. Buford High School's Will Davis and Marietta High School's Shelbea Owens won Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively, in the 2016 Shuler Hensley Awards.

With the aim of inspiring performance and recognizing the importance of musical theater and arts education in Northeast Ohio high schools, Playhouse Square proudly held its inaugural Dazzle Awards ceremony on Saturday, May 21. The Dazzle Awards are affiliated with the National High School Musical Theatre Awards ('The Jimmy Awards') presented by The Broadway League Foundation.  

With a cast featuring Broadway veterans and Music Circus audience favorites, the musical comedy Legally Blonde makes its Music Circus premiere to kick off the 66th season. Shelbea Owen, a rising senior at Marietta High School, is one of the winners who will be representing the Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards - Shuler Hensley Awards in New York City this week as she competes in the 8th annual National High School Musical Theatre Awards - The JimmyTM Awards. Shelbea won the 2016 Shuler Leading Actress award for her role as Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray. 

The national tour of 42nd Street just wrapped up a 3-week run at Hollywood's historic Pantages Theatre.  The cast shows off their dance moves in this ode to JT's "Can't Stop the Feeling" and celebration of summertime!

The 2016 Bobby G Awards, which celebrate outstanding achievement in Colorado high-school theatre, were held May 26 at the Buell Theatre. Each of the five nominated Outstanding Musicals performed songs or medleys before the crowd of 1,700. Below are excerpts from each of those performances. The featured productions were: Cherry Creek High School's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying; Denver School of the Arts' Spring Awakening; Mountain View High School's Anything Goes; Arvada West High School's Les Miserables; and Fairview High School's Guys and Dolls.
