Tom Burlinson to Headline Slide Cabaret Festival, 2/16

Sydney's most famous cabaret venue, Slide, will produce its first annual Cabaret Festival from Monday 6 February – Saturday March 3, 2012 announcing over 23 artists from the United States of America, France and Australia including interstate artists from Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

Slide are thrilled to announce Tom Burlinson to headline their program. On Thursday 16th February, Tom will premiere his brand new show that will feature a live 6 piece band, playing a rare an intimate show featuring the songs of the greatest swing masters.

Fillm and TV stars, comedians and cabaret divas feature in the festival lineup boasting Australian Screen legend and cabaret sensation Tom Burlinson (The Man From Snowy River and Frank- A Life In Song) Phil Scott (Priscilla, Wharf Revue), Michael Griffiths (Jersey Boys, Adelaide Cabaret Festival), Marney McQueen (Hairspray, Rosa Wax), El Circo, David Raleigh (NYC), Catherine Alcorn (The Divine Miss Bette, Monday Night Live) and Marika Aubrey (THE LAST FIVE YEARS, Redhead) as just some of the names on this extensive program.

The program, produced and curated by Catherine Alcorn (Creative Producer) and Marc Kuzma, presents Sydney with a seasonally diverse selection of theatre, musical theatre and cabaret shows perfectly suited to align with Mardi Gras 2012.

Cabaret Festival goers will have the choice between enjoying a two course fine dining and show experience from $70.00 or show only viewing from $25.00 whilst sipping on cocktails upon the mezzanine, all the while absorbing the vaudevillian vibe and sophistication of Slide.Festival Opening Night will occur on Monday 6 February where patrons will be invited to walk the red carpet and witness a star?studded line?up of talented cabaret artists featured in the Festival including sneak peek performances including Kelfi & Fikel, Tom Sharah, Marika Aubrey and Marney McQueen.

This inaugural Opening Night event is hugely anticipated with limited general public tickets available for $30.00 including a glass of sparkling on arrival thanks to our sponsors at Kissing Bridge Australia.
