TRASH TEST DUMMIES Return To Melbourne Image

Wheeling into Melbourne after a world-touring two years away, the multi award winning Trash Test Dummies return with their riotous trash-can antics to surprise and delight audiences of all ages at Melbourne International Comedy Festival from 28 March - 12 April.

With two fantastically talented females starring in the show for the first time, be prepared for an uproarious adventure as the world-class troupe take on the humble household wheelie bin for an extraordinary array of slapstick storytelling, imaginative physical theatre, thrilling acrobatic skills and immersive entertainment. Catch a preview of the show here.

Tickets are on sale now via the Comedy Festival website.

Trash Test Dummies' triumphant return to MICF follows six years of sell out seasons at Edinburgh Fringe Festival's Underbelly, as well as most recently touring the UK and Singapore.

Newest recruit Sarah 'Doogs' McDougall (Circolombia, Circus Oz, Casus) brings boundless energy to the show, along with mind-boggling aerial stunts, despite being afraid of heights.

Amy Nightingale-Olsen, the first female to join the Dummies, brings her highly-flying acrobatic skills to Melbourne for the first time. Don't let her small stature fool you; this trained gymnast is an Icarian Games (human foot juggling) champion, and has performed with Australia's leading circus companies such as Circus Oz and Circa.

Crowd favourite Thomas McDonald once again returns with his unforgettable theatrical presence and feats of human strength. Thomas began his career at New Zealand's Circus Aotearoa and has gone on to create and perform a number of inventive, acclaimed circus shows.

A firm favourite on the Edinburgh Fringe Festival program each year, Trash Test Dummies has won a slew of awards and rave reviews including Best Children's Presentation 2016 and 2015 at Adelaide Fringe, runners up for Children's Choice Award 2016 and a Best Kid's Show nomination at the 2017 Melbourne Fringe.

Director Jamie Bretman, who is also the founder of Dummies Corp, combined his background in social work and community outreach with his love of circus, as a means of encouraging imagination expansion through play.

"Trash Test Dummies is constantly evolving as the performers engage with the audience and invite them along for the wheelie bin ride of a lifetime. It's very heart-warming to see TTD become a timeless favourite for audiences around the world. The diverse cast are constantly coming up with new tricks and gags along to keep it fresh for our loyal family of fans," says Jamie.

The multi-award winning Dummies Corp is Australia's only dedicated family circus company. They have always been relied upon to delight local and global audiences with a crowd-wowing mash-up of circus, comedy and imaginative play.

Each Trash Test Dummies performance runs for 60 minutes and is for ages 5+.
