'PubTheatre' is a collection of six short Australian plays, performed by the ensemble of Moment to Moment Theatre Company. We will have eleven performances between February 8th and February 22nd, some of which will be Australian / World premiers.

The Mission for PubTheatre: We want to bring theatre to the masses, young and old, who may never have experienced its magic. We aim to bring comedic and dramatic stories of high quality to pubs across Melbourne, in an attempt to break down perceived notions of what theatre 'has to be'.

Theatre does not have to be exclusive and expensive, in fact by nature, theatre is supposed to be the opposite; inclusive and intimate. Storytelling began with cavemen sitting around a campfire telling stories, creating hope and reflecting on their world. We don't have the campfire anymore, now we have the local drinking hole.

The Plays:

THE KILL

If you dream you die, you die right? Well what if someone else dies in your dream? Or what if you dream you kill them? And what if that person is sitting beside you on the couch, watching the TV? A psychological dream-thriller. With tomatoes.

Written by: Alex Broun.

Directed by: Vidya Rajan.

Performed by: Adam Marsh and Daniel Snibson.

STARGAZERS

Two teenagers, Danny and Becky, are enjoying a romantic evening under the stars when they are rudely interrupted by Danny's father, the nutty professor Dr Ludwig. Now Danny has a decision to make - a decision that could be out of this world.

Written by: Greg Gould.

Directed by: Greg Saunders.

Performed by: Casey Bohan, Tom Considine and Louis Corbett.

MAGGOTS

Tonight, John and Sidney are going to make history. Front page news. But when John's sister, Michelle, unexpectedly turns up at his apartment, John is forced to make a deadly choice: family, or brotherhood.

SHIRLEY VS THE POSSUMS

Shirley Vs. The Possums (an adaptation of the original "Shirley Vs. The Squirrels,") is a dark comedy that explores how different people deal with grief. No possums were harmed in the making of this production... those furry bastards.

Written by: Camilla Maxwell.

Directed by: Genevieve Brott.

THE BENCH

An unlikely bond is formed between high school students, Jemima and Dan, as they meet outside the principal's office. A memorial bench has been vandalised and the culprit has not yet been found - the incident brings the two together in unexpected ways that will alter both their futures.

Written and Directed by: Holly Brindley.

LAST DRINKS

Mel's partners keep dying. Ben can't die, no matter how hard he tries. Did destiny bring these two lost souls together? What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?
