TAKE A SEAT at The Butterfly Club this January
Take A Seat invites audiences into the underbelly of The Butterfly Club, where they will sit amongst the dead, waiting for an off-stage arbiter to decide their fate. The one-act play features seven characters from all walks of life, including a Muslim refugee, an ignorant American soldier swamped with self-hatred, a lonely grandmother, a dancer with depression, and a father and son trying to forgive each other before it's too late. They are as individual in perspective as they are united by their experience of death.
All seven characters challenge each other on their beliefs of right and wrong, and struggle to find common ground in the one thing they have in common: their own mortality and the impending unknown. Written by Kieran Gould-Dowen, it is a gripping and immersive work of theatre that goes to the heart of what it is to be alive, and where we go when we die.
"The cast are insanely talented, and from very different backgrounds," says Gould-Dowen, "They are finding moments of levity and pathos that I never saw coming. The discoveries in the rehearsal room are adding weight and depth to the characters own experiences of life and death. Frankly, I have never been this excited about a project"
Take A Seat opens on the 25th of January 2017 and runs for five nights. Bookings recommended.
