Soothplayers Set For Melbourne Fringe 2016
Comedy? Tragedy? History? From star-crossed lovers to sword-crossed duels and cross-eyed fools, Soothplayers provide everything that four centuries of theatre-goers know and love, completely on the spot! Did you hate Shakespeare in school? Prepare thyself. The show is fast-paced and action-packed, promising laughs and gasps for Bard lovers and haters alike.
Soothplayers have enjoyed successful seasons at the 2015 Melbourne Fringe Festival and the 2016 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, receiving rave reviews and leaving audiences begging for more. Each performance is a completely new work, using Shakespearean language, themes, and style. Even the musical accompaniment is completely improvised!
Sounds impossible, right? The cast includes actors who have performed for the Australian Shakespeare Company, as well as Melbourne's premier improvisation troupes, including The Improv Conspiracy, Impro Melbourne, The Big Hoo-Haa!, and Impromptunes.
