Soothplayers Return to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival
Comedy? Tragedy? History? From star-crossed lovers to sword-crossed duels and cross-eyed fools, Soothplayers provide everything that four centuries of theatre-goers know and love, completely on the spot! Did you hate Shakespeare in school? Prepare thyself. The show is fast-paced and action-packed, promising laughs and gasps for Bard lovers and haters alike.
Soothplayers return to the Comedy Festival after selling out their entire 2016 Melbourne Fringe Festival season and receiving rave reviews. Each performance is a brand new play, using Shakespearean language, themes, and style. Even the musical accompaniment is completely improvised!
Sounds impossible, right? The cast includes seasoned actors who have played with the Australian Shakespeare Company as well as Melbourne's premier improvisation troupes, including The Improv Conspiracy, Impro Melbourne, The Big Hoo-Haa!, and Impromptunes.
