Slow Clap, return to the Melbourne Fringe Festival with their "spectacular mix of storytelling, character-based comedy and dance." Following the success of last year’s hit The Hermitude of Angus, Ecstatic, Slow Clap’s Truth played to sold out crowds at the 2012 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and has just returned from a breakthrough season at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It was nominated for Best Comedy at this year’s Adelaide Fringe Festival and Highly Commended for the John Chataway Innovation Award.

Showcasing his signature style of physical/dance/character comedy, multi award-winning performer Vachel Spirason commands the stage with a blistering energy and awe-inspiring dexterity. Truth features an array of insane characters including a Czech Chess champion, a fiery flamenco dancer, a manic ice skater and a tragic loner, all brought to life by Spirason in a tour-de-force physical performance.

Co-created by internationally acclaimed theatre-maker, writer and producer Stephanie Brotchie, Truth is the latest offering from two of Australia's most exciting young artists.

Slow Clap also produce US comedian Dr Brown in Australia, who took home the Barry Award at 2012 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and just won the 2012 Edinburgh Comedy Award. Later this year Slow Clap will coordinate a large-scale community dance event at Federation Square in conjunction with City of Melbourne.
