Raw, sexy and dangerous, the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning musical, RENT will rock back to the stage in 2018 in Queensland Performing Arts Centre's (QPAC's) Cremorne Theatre from 2 May.

The Jonathan Larson classic features popular hits such as Seasons of Love and Take Me or Leave Me. The multi-award winning musical follows the life of a group of friends struggling to make it in New York's East Village. This visceral performance shows the group dealing with heartbreak as they strive to fulfil their dreams, intertwined in the shadow of HIV and AIDS.

Loosely based on Puccini's La Boheme, RENT first premiered over twenty years ago and it continues to deliver.

RENT Producer Matt Ward said audiences can anticipate a gritty and moving production showcasing the best of Queensland musical theatre talent.

"We are thrilled to announce Jonathan Larson's ground breaking musical will return to Brisbane in 2018. This all new production will build on the success of our sold-out presentation of RENT earlier this year which had audiences waitlisting and eager for a return season," said M. Ward.

"Teaming up with our co-presenting partners QPAC and director Tim Hill, we have no doubt that this enduring classic, RENT, which still resonates with themes and messages that are deeply relevant today, will be the hottest ticket in town!"

Playing for a strictly limited season at QPAC from 2 May 2018, tickets are on sale from this Friday 10 November 2017 at 5.00pm. Don't miss securing your tickets now to this stunning new production of RENT - a must-see musical. To book go to qpac.com.au or phone 136-246.
