Pursued by Bear Set to Produce TICK, TICK...BOOM! This April

tick, tick...BOOM!, the autobiographical musical by visionary musical theatre writer Jonathan Larson (RENT) is set to open at Chapel off Chapel on 21 April!
Larson tragically passed away 20 years ago, on the morning of RENT's first preview performance Off Broadway but his work still resonates with audiences across the world. In fact, Pursued by Bear's production of tick, tick BOOM! will open twenty years to the week that RENT moved from its humble beginnings Off Broadway to the shimmering lights of Broadway and became the global smash hit that it is today. Originally conceived as a one-man autobiographical 'rock opera' and then re-configured into a three-actor chamber musical, tick, tick...BOOM! depicts a struggling creative artist (Larson) who wonders how much longer he can sanely balance his passion and goals with the stumbling blocks of life - relationships, jobs, money, doubts, fears. Playing to audiences at Chapel off Chapel from 21 April - 1 May, the show promises to be just the ticket Melbourne audiences need to celebrate the legacy of Larson, and will feature a cast and creative team that have been shaped immeasurably by his work, led by prolific Director, Paul Watson (Once, We will rock you).
