Due to popular demand, Melbourne Theatre Company's season of Hay Fever has been extended and will now run until Wednesday 1 November.

Starring queen-of-the-stage Marina Prior as the deliciously theatrical Judith Bliss, Hay Fever is delighting audiences, with many performances almost sold out and tickets in high demand for the remaining season.

MTC Artistic Director Brett Sheehy said, 'The response to Hay Fever since it hit the stage a week and a half ago has confirmed the play's status as a timeless classic, and this production as one that offers an exceptionally fun and stylish night in the theatre. It's always a delight when audiences embrace our productions with such enthusiasm, and we're very pleased to give more people the chance to see Hay Fever through these additional performances.'

Directed by Lee Lewis, this exquisite production of Noël Coward's classic play features an enchanting period set by Christina Smith and stunning costumes by Esther Marie Hayes.

Completing Hay Fever's irresistible cast is Simon Gleeson (Les Misérables), Gareth Davies (The Cherry Orchard), Marg Downey (Top of the Lake: China Girl), Kim Gyngell (Top of the Lake: China Girl), Alexandra Keddie (Offspring), Imogen Sage (Rebecca), Monica Sayers (Chimerica) and Drew Weston (The Rocky Horror Show).

Hay Fever plays at Southbank Theatre, The Sumner until Wednesday 1 November.
