Joseph Tawadros to Tour Europe, Australia, and Asia this October

Triple ARIA winning, Cairo-born oud virtuoso, Joseph Tawadros AM, is on tour from mid October with more than 20 concerts across several continents. The tour itinerary is below.

From Ali's Wedding to the BBC Proms in Dubai, from Abbey Road to the Melbourne Symphony - it's been a busy and colourful year for Tawadros, who is based in London, and this tour completes 2017 with a flourish across half the globe.

Earlier this year Joseph premiered his Oud Concerto, played with the BBC Orchestra, dropped a cracker of a new album and recorded his distinctive oud work for the Ali's Wedding film soundtrack.

The tour includes solo recitals, trio concerts, a Band of Brothers night with the Grigoryan brothers, concerts and workshops for community groups in Dili and Guangzhou and collaborations with Vienna's Morphing Chamber Orchestra in Europe and Ukraine.

2017 so far:
* Release of the Live at Abbey Road duo album with excellent reviews (see below)
* Performance on the Ali's Wedding soundtrack
* Premiere of Joseph's Concerto for Oud and Orchestra with Melbourne Symphony
* Performance of Tawadros original pieces with the BBC Orchestra in Dubai
* Recording in New York with brilliant young Iraqi/US violinist Layth Sidiq

Footnote: A sad occurrence was the passing of Joseph's friend and mentor, jazz guitar legend John Abercrombie in August. John recorded the 'The Hour of Separation' album with Joseph and they toured Europe together. In July, Joseph spent a day with John at the hospital in New York.
