Impro Melbourne Proudly Presents MAESTRO IMPRO

After a round of sell-out shows at MICF, Impro Melbourne is proud to bring you the 2016 season of Maestro Impro ! Join us on Sunday evenings at Dr Sugar in Prahran as Impro's heroes join brand new players on stage and show off their talents in a battle for audience approval. This format is all about an ensemble cast collaborating and competing, a showcase of improvisation at its best!

Each night of the season, directors challenge improvisers to step into the unknown and perform to the peak of their abilities. Players' numbers are called randomly from a hat, performing scenes according to their director's wishes. Scene after scene they get closer to becoming the Maestro for the match, with each round risking elimination.

Outwit, outplay, outlast? While there are the inevitable favourite combinations, loyalties and rivalries, our players use their special talents, be it mime, comedy, improvised song, character, narrative, or Shakespeare, to unite in one common goal: simply to give the audience a great time. With each player strategizing to form an alliance with the audience, the crowd votes to decide their fate and to determine the ultimate victor!

This season is directed by IM co-artistic director Katherine Weaver. The cast features all of the Impro Melbourne players and weekly special guests.
