Impro Melbourne Kicks Off Season of Improv with SUPERSCENE

By: Feb. 10, 2015

SUPERSCENE - Four Directors, Four Unique Stories but Only One will survive. After each round of scenes, the audience decides which storyline is eliminated, until one director and one storyline remain to play out the coveted final scene .... the SuperScene. It's 'Survivor' for the Theatre! Created by the Die Gorillas company in Berlin, Germany and shared with Impro Melbourne, the audience holds the power and the directors must pull out all the stops to keep their story alive !

SMELLS LIKE A SONG - A flick of the wrist, a toss of a rose and the audience becomes the musical director of a full-blown musical. Launching a rose towards the stage, with a cry of "Smells Like a Song!" our players, with jaw-dropping obedience, burst into original song. Anything goes - a ballad, blues, rock opera, solo, duet or Broadway chorus - our musician and the moment decide the style but the players must respond to the audience's call. And what performer doesn't love a stage strewn with roses!

Two shows for the price of one.

The Impro Melbourne Ensemble led by directors Patti Stiles and Kevin Yank, are thrilled to welcome back the fabulous musical talent of Boris Connelly (Ennio Morricone Experience, Chad Bradley-How To Make a Musical) as our Musical Director and musician for this season. There is no musical style he cannot improvise!
