Ilana Charnelle Brings 'Play Nice' Album Launch to The Butterfly Club
What happens when the good girl is pushed too far? She gets nasty. Ilana Charnelle is sick of biting her tongue and being told to smile. Through an hour of original songs and a live three-piece band, let Ilana teach you why some girls don't like to play nice.
Alongside musical director Ned Dixon, Ilana Charnelle shares stories of vulnerability, frustration and empowerment in a Dita-von-Teese-meets-Doris-Day combination that will leave you wanting more. If you've ever wished you could point the finger or get the last word, you'll revel in Ilana's parade of naming and shaming as she calls out the behaviour that has tipped her over the edge.
Play Nice will also mark Ilana's third album release, following her debut EP Speakeasy in 2011 and the live recording A Class Act in 2016. While maintaining the crooner-inspired vintage sound Ilana Charnelle is known for, Play Nice injects her retro sound with modern-day sensibilities. Not just a singer but a story teller, Ilana shares stories so intimate they resonate universally.
