INSANITY Comes to Melbourne Cabaret Fringe Festival

INSANITY Comes to Melbourne Cabaret Fringe Festival ImageEver been on Tinder? Been stood up? Had a bath with a man you've met twice? If you're questioning your luck in love (or perhaps you need to impress a date) come along to a show that'll make you feel better about all your own dating disasters!

Part of the 2018 season of the Melbourne Cabaret Fringe Festival this original new work is sure to have audiences laughing and cringing until the final curtain. Self-deprecating and disturbingly honest comedic actor Isobel Yates stars in this one-woman show, exploring the trials and tribulations of millennial feminist dating. Dating is already a minefield of self reflection and compromise.... But throw in some strong political views (and the radical notion that - shock, horror! - women are people) and suddenly Tinder is a terrifying place.

It's one thing when you're cool calm and collected - but who is ever that on a first date? Isobel's quirks happen to come in the form of rather obsessive tendencies. Singing her way through this crazy world of men and anxiety (over which she has a lot less control than she would like to believe), it's incredible that Isobel has any energy left at all! It isn't the women we should be calling crazy. It's the dating game itself.

Isobel has studied both Musical Theatre and Acting and is currently completing her Bachelor of Arts majoring in English and Theatre. Having trained in New York, London and Melbourne Isobel is excited to be putting on her first solo show on her home turf.

Opening on July 9th for a 5 show run - this is one not to be missed. You can even bring a Tinder date along for the ride!

This show is written, performed and directed by Isobel Yates.
