Gutenberg! The Musical! was the winner of the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival Award for Excellencein Musical Theatre Writing. It has enjoyed successful seasons Off-Broadway and on London's West End. Now itcomes to the Seymour Centre for its Australian Premiere playing in the Downstairs Theatre from 16 to 21February and returning as part of a national tour from 14 to 25 July 2009.

Gutenberg is presented by Ian Stenlake, Neil Gooding Productions and James Millar and written by SCOTTBROWN and Anthony King - hailed by The New York Times as ‘superb comic writers' for their work on Gutenberg!

In 1450 Johann Gutenberg invented the printing press.In 2009, Bud and Doug wrote a show about it. No, not just a show...a big, splashy musical! Now they just needten million dollars or so to put it on....

In this two-man musical spoof, the pair of aspiring playwrights perform a backers audition for their newproject...for you, the audience...and some big Broadway producers! With an unending supply of enthusiasm,Bud and Doug sing all the songs and play all the parts in their silly historical epic.Gutenberg! The Musical! will be directed by NEIL GOODING and star David Harris (Miss Saigon, The FullMonty), JAMES MILLAR (Oklahoma!, Company) and MISS BEV KENNEDY as Charles the accompanist!
