Following their hugely successful US tour, Celtic Thunder will return to Australian shores in May 2014 for an extensive 21 date national tour, visiting both capital city and regional markets across Australia, some of which they'll be visiting for the first time. Their new and highly anticipated show, Mythology, vows to be even bigger and better than ever before.

The 2009 and 2011 #1 Billboard World Artists, who once performed for President Obama at the White House, have amassed global sales of over two million albums and more than 700, 000 concert tickets to date. With thousands of loyal followers and adoring fans they have a string of platinum and double platinum discs in Australia, with 2012's The Show going triple platinum. Last year they were Universal Music's top selling artist on DVD.

Celtic Thunder's 9th album, Mythology debuted at #1 on the Billboard World Music Chart and both the CD and DVD have continued to dominate music charts since its release. In Australia, the DVD debuted at #1 on the ARIA DVD Chart and remained on the charts for 25 weeks reaching gold status. With stats like that it is no wonder Australia has the largest Celtic Thunder following outside of the USA!

Mythology is without a doubt Celtic Thunder's most extravagant and spectacular show yet and by far the biggest undertaking of producer ShaRon Browne's and Musical Director David Munro's careers to date. An impressive and imposing stage resembling an ancient stone pathway drawn from Celtic lore will be constructed plus the use of dramatic effects via lighting and choreography.

Mythology recounts the history of the Celtic People, their legends, cultures and stories, showcasing the heritage of modern-day Celts and the influences from their Celtic past that make them who they are today. The show includes a mix of favourites, ranging from traditional Irish fare, to international hits as well as original compositions including 'Voices' written by David Munro and world renowned composer Brendan Graham ('You Raise Me Up').

For Celtic Thunder newcomer Colm Keegan, this tour will mark his first visit to Australia, and to say the Irish singer is excited would be an understatement. "I know so many people in Australia, I have cousins in Perth and friends from College in Melbourne and Sydney, I can't wait to get out there and catch up with everyone and meet all our Aussie fans".

Colm is the sixth member of the ensemble which consists of Emmett, Keith, Ryan, George and Neil who all perform solo and ensemble numbers throughout the show.

In an Australian exclusive, Celtic Thunder will be releasing a DVD and CD package, Myths and Legends, on October 25 for their loyal Australian fans ahead of their anticipated tour in May and just in time for Christmas. The DVD presents an intimate, hour long behind the scenes look at the recording, rehearsing and filming of Mythology, getting to know the cast and crew of Celtic Thunder; whilst the accompanying CD brings 15 timeless songs from the much-loved group, with such hits as 'Always There' and 'The Sound of Silence'.
