GOD OF CARNAGE Makes Australian Premiere 5/4-6/6
Queensland Theatre Company and Black Swan State Theatre Company present the Australian premiere of Yasmina Reza's God of Carnage- winner of the 2008 Olivier Award for Best NewComedy.
A sparkling satire, God of Carnage explores the riotous power struggle that ensues when two couples get together to calmly discuss their children's schoolyard fight. Alain is a lawyer glued to his mobile and Annette is a well-heeled stock broker.
Together they visit Michel, a company director and his wife Veronique, a successful author and sociologist. Fromgenial hosts and gracious guests, to couple vs. couple to husbands vs. wives everyone turns oneach other in an attempt to win the argument and prove just who the better parent is.
Says Director Michael Gow, "A very intelligent comedy - God of CarnageGod of CarnageGod of CarnageGod of Carnage has quick wit, one liners and brilliant physical comedy. Audiences will be laughing and wondering just who is the winner inthis hilarious contest of parenting and modern manners".
