2015 has been quite the year for comedian Michael Shafar. Not satisfied with writing for Live On Bowen, curating, producing AND hosting the constantly sold-out Melbourne Comedy's Rising Stars, he is launching his latest offering, 3 Course Comedy.

The premise is simple: take three of the finest delicacies on the Melbourne comedy menu and serve them for a simple, one-hour digestion. If Melbourne Comedy's Rising Stars is an 8-course degustation, then this is a heartier offering of entrée, main and dessert.*

The entrée is Sam Taunton. This tasty morsel has been wowing crowds all year. From presenting on Channel [V] to racking up a "Special Mention" in the National RAW Comedy final, Taunton is on the rise. In fact, as Chortle put it, his "sparky conversational style and easy confidence suits the opening slot perfectly."

Serving up the main meal is the aforementioned Michael Shafar (3 Little Gigs, Round Squares). Shafar is the consummate storyteller. His natural anecdotal style will guide you around the world and back - painting poignant pictures of travel that are punctuated by laughter so hard your sides will actually hurt.

Your dessert for the night comes in the form of Tim Hewitt. And let's face it, he's pretty freaking sweet. Meet the man who can boast a sold out season at the Brisbane Fringe. The man that Squirrel Comedy says "weaves in and out of his material in dream like fashion." Hewitt's comic stylings are the perfect way to round out a thoroughly delicious night of comedy.

Performances will be held on July 18th at 10pm at the The Butterfly Club, 5 Carson Place, Melbourne 3000. Tickets are $17-$20. For more information and tickets visit: thebutterflyclub.com/show/three-course-comedy
