Annie Lee Brings 'Pawn Again Christian' to The Butterfly Club Acclaimed actress Annie Lee (The Kransky Sisters) presents her new one-woman show inspired by her life growing up in a fundamentalist religion.

Banned from sex education class at junior high school, at age fourteen, Annie was cautiously handed a picture book by her mother on the reproductive system. It was to mark the beginning of a life of sin and rebellion. At the age of seventeen, she was ousted from the family home for being a heathen; cut off from the flock, a lost sheep cast out to roam the paddocks of the 'World", where she went in search of greener pastures. Annie was on the next plane to Sydney and checked into a hotel in Kings Cross.

From wacky stories of growing up in a small beachside town in a religious community in Tasmania, to her portrayal of those who live by the manner of faith, Annie takes us on a journey through a quagmire of ideologies in a fraught search for the meaning of life.

Annie Lee has been performing for over three decades, from leading roles in the plays of Berkoff and Shakespeare, to her solo cabaret shows, her co-created large scale outdoor festival works and as oldest sister Mourne Kransky in multi-award winning trio, The Kransky Sisters.
