'Adult Fairy Party' to Debut at The Butterfly Club in May

How come kids always know what they wanna be when they 'grow up'? After sell out seasons in Melbourne and Brisbane with her one woman cabaret "These Things Take Wine" comedy cabaret performer Natasha York is back with her new show... or should we say party?

It's time to see how a fairy party should go - without any kids around (and with alcohol).

After years of being a professional fairy, Natasha York (These Things Take Wine, Impromptunes) doesn't know who's in control anymore - the fairy or her. Completing 3 degrees in Business, Drama and Musical Theatre, York never thought she'd see herself here (neither did her mother) and so has collected her talents to present "Adult Fairy Party" an "immersive cabaret experience" - otherwise known as a kids party where you drink.

The show is set to debut at Melbourne's iconic Butterfly Club, which is an apt place for a fairy to find herself. "I set out to write the show as an ode to children's entertainers everywhere, but along the way it's turned into an exploration of fairy logic, playing and what it means to grow up," York explains. "I also really wanted an excuse to actually host one of these parties for adults - what better place than in a cabaret venue with a bar!".

Through party games, her tales of life as a children's entertainer and magic, York takes the audience on a fully interactive kids party - with a real live pass the parcel! York is a brilliant songstress and the show will deliver reworked pop tunes, the music of party favourites like 'Incy Wincy Spider', 'Ring Around The Rosy' and of course that one hit wonder 'Happy Birthday'.

Sometimes being a grown up sucks, but this is an excuse to get dressed up, have some fun and even be reacquainted with your inner child. The show is playing every Sunday in May at the very responsible time of 7pm, downstairs at The Butterfly Club. So grab your wings - it's time to fly out of reality and into the Adult Fairy Party! PS.
