Adelaide Festival Centre's Australian Stories program presents Company B's production of Page 8 Page 8, one of the most extraordinary coming-of-age stories in Australian theatre returns to Adelaide in 2009 from 1 - 5 September in the Dunstan Playhouse.

David Page stars in this one-man show and brings to life his moving story through a mixture of story telling, music, dance and home movies. David grew up as the eighth child of twelve living in a Mt Gravatt housing commission estate and became Australia's answer to Michael Jackson at just 13 years old. As the all-singing, all-dancing Little Davey Page, he appeared on Countdown
and The Paul Hogan Show and his singles made it into the Aussie top ten until his voice broke. David then went on a journey of self-discovery in his teenage years, with questions of sexuality, family issues and career direction amongst others, until as an adult he went on to become an award winning composer.

Written by David Page and Louis Nowra and directed by David's brother Stephen Page (Bangarra Dance Theatre), Page 8 enjoyed a successful 2005 Adelaide Cabaret Festival season and subsequent sell-out seasons interstate. Director Stephen Page describes Page 8 as "....a love letter to our family, our history and our culture. It's about courage vulnerability, love, pain and loss. Above all it's about keeping happy and sane, loving yourself and finding your path in life, without compromise."

At the 2009 Helpmann Awards David Page, Stephen Page and Company B all received awards for various projects acknowledging their superb work in the Australian Arts industry. Company B is one of Australia's most respected and celebrated theatre companies, working with Australia's most prominent and promising playwrights, directors, actors and designers to present an annual artistic program that is razorsharp, popular and challenging.
