WHIPPING MAN, GHOST-WRITER, et al. Included in Circle Theatre's 31st Season

Circle Theatre, a professional regional theatre located in Fort Worth's Sundance Square, is proud to announce its upcoming 31st season. The Theatre plans to present five main stage productions, opening with Secrets of a Soccer Mom by Kathleen Clark. Previews will begin January 26. Opening night is January 28 and the show will run through February 25.

Secrets of a Soccer Mom

This engaging comedy features three women who reluctantly take the field in a "mothers vs. sons" soccer game. The plan is to let the children win, but as the game unfolds, the ladies become obsessed with scoring points. In the end, they discover that true victory lies in achieving a better understanding of themselves and the changes they need to make in their lives. (contains some strong language)

The Whipping Man

Winner of the 2011 NY Outer Critics Circle John Gassner Playwriting Award

An emotional and mesmerizing drama, The Whipping Man provides powerful insight into the human condition. Set in war-ravaged Virginia, a Jewish Confederate soldier and two freed slaves face the harsh reality of post-Civil War life. As the three men reunite to celebrate Passover, they uncover a tangle of secrets that could cost each man his freedom. (contains strong language and a graphic scene)

We've all had stressful days at the office, but none quite like what Off-Broadway producer Felix Artifex experiences while trying to bring an epic play about the French Revolution to Broadway. This ambitious project forces him into hilarious attempts to juggle a demanding Hollywood star and his agent, an uncompromising playwright, an uncommunicative ex-wife, and urgent business problems involving a truck load of sheep in a war-torn country. See How They Run

Before there was Noises Off, there was See How They Run - which proves the British know what they are doing when it comes to creating door-slamming hilarity. King's whirlwind of a comedy is set during World War II, in the living room of a vicarage in the fictitious village of Merton-cum-Middlewick. Prepare to be out of breath from laughter as mistaken identities and ludicrous situations run wild in this irrepressible English farce.

When novelist Franklin Woolsey dies mid-sentence, his final novel continues to be written through his ever-faithful secretary, Myra. Attacked by skeptics, the press and Woolsey's jealous widow, Myra sets out to prove she is more than just an artful forger. Is she trying to steal Woolsey's legacy, or might she truly possess a gift the world can't understand?

Individual ticket prices for shows are $20 - $30. Preview performance tickets are $10 - $15. Season tickets are $120 each. Corporate packages (four season tickets) are available for $460. Flex tickets are available for $70 each and are good for one admission to three shows. Anyone who purchases a season ticket by January 26 will receive a $10 discount on each individual season ticket, or a $20 discount on a corporate package. This year, Circle is inaugurating its Generation Next Flex Tix series. To help develop the next generation of theatre-goers, Circle Theatre will distribute donated Flex Tix to young people (ages 18 - 25).
