(03/13/2017) - The Bridges of Madison County, a 2013 romantic tuner featuring music and lyrics by Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown and a book by Marsha Norman, opened on Broadway in 2014, playing only 137 performances before its closing, and there are reasons for that. The narrative arc is uneven, falling into an irritating habit of concentrating on insignificant peripheral events while leaving the important ones largely unexplored. The musical also suffers from a clumsy, cloying ending that begs to be cut by a good 20 minutes. In the hands of a less capable director, these significant script problems might be deal breakers, but under the direction of Justin Anderson, Aurora Theatre's Associate Artistic Director, the production still manages to be a grand affair.

(02/05/2017) - Actress Christina Ricci was presented with the Vanguard Award following the screening and Q&A for Amazon's 'Z' The Beginning of Everything,' with actor David Holfin, and executive producers Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin. The cast of FOX's 'Star' also received the Rising Star Award on Saturday night. Actors Jude Demorest, Brittany O'Grady and Ryan Destiny accepted the honor on behalf of the cast.

(01/31/2017) - Atlanta's Tony Award winning Alliance Theatre presents the world premiere The Temple Bombing, written and directed by Jimmy Maize. A new play about the event that rocked Atlanta from Peachtree Street to Auburn Avenue, The Temple Bombing recounts the 1958 attack on The Temple, Atlanta's oldest synagogue, which bolstered local and national support for dramatic social change. The Temple Bombing will have its world premiere on the Alliance Stage from February 22 - March 12, 2017. The production runs January 5th through 22nd, 2017 at the theatre's home in the Roswell Cultural Arts Center. Veteran Atlanta director and actor Shannon Eubanks will be reunited with playwright Payne to once again direct his latest comedy.
