ATL Symphony To Perform Cirque de la Symphonie

By: Jun. 23, 2011

Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in "Cirque de la Symphonie" on Saturday, July 30, at 8:00 p.m. at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park. This concert, which combines world-class acrobatics and artistry with classical masterpieces and memorable contemporary music, will mark the Orchestra's third performance at the Amphitheatre this summer.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will close its 2011 summer season at the Amphitheatre with Mr.
Krajewski and the Orchestra performing alongside Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on Saturday, August 13,
2011, at 8:00 p.m. This will be the first time the two groups have performed together since Big Bad Voodoo Daddy released its new album How Big Can You Get?:The Music of Cab Calloway in 2009.

Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park is a not-for-profit performance venue owned and
operated by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

The Amphitheatre Experience
Each Atlanta Symphony Orchestra concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park offers
table-seating in the main Orchestra section of the venue, reserved seating throughout the pavilion, and lawn seating. Complementing this seating variation is an experience influenced by the repertoire and theme of the Orchestra: Live on-site broadcasts and themed cuisine allow audiences to create their own unique evening of enjoyment at the ASO's summer home.

Live On-Site Broadcast and Text-Message Questions from Audience
The Atlanta Symphony continues the tradition of introducing members of the Atlanta Symphony to the audience with an evening-long live, on-site broadcast of the concert on large 15′x20′ screens, which are permanently affixed on either side of the stage. The live feed will include a pre-concert show, as well as live intermission interviews of guest artists and musicians from the Orchestra, fueled by text-message questions sent by the audience the night of the concert.

Themed Cuisine
Ovations, the on-site caterer for Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, will offer themed cuisine to
complement the programming of all Orchestra concerts at the Amphitheatre. Concertgoers may preorder a picnic basket (which serves two people), or enjoy themed specialty items from the concessions.

Those with box seating and/or admission to the Nalley Cars VIP Club may choose to enjoy the
separate themed-menu available in the Club for Atlanta Symphony performances.
For the July 30th concert, a Cirque-inspired picnic will accompany the regular fare offered at the venue.

The "No Strings Attached Tote for Two" will include Bolero pear, walnut, and mixed green salad;
spinach and prosciutto stuffed chicken breast with dijonnaise sauce, and mixed berries and cream.
Concertgoers not purchasing the "Tote for Two" will be able to enjoy the "stand special" - cotton candy available at concessions.

This year, concertgoers will be able to pre-order a picnic basket and view the full menu available for each concert, via the General Info/Food and Beverage section online at vzwamp.com.
Family ticket packages are available for all 2011 Orchestra concerts. Packages include four tickets for lawn or pavilion seating, four food baskets, four lawn chair rentals, and one parking pass. Prices start at $60. More information is available at vzwamp.com.
