Youth Onstage!, the youth theatre of the All Stars Project, presents its third Poetry Snap: Word on the Street on Friday, April 17, 24 and Saturday, April 25, in the new Lobby Theatre at the All Stars Project's performing arts and development center, 543 West 42nd Street (between 10th & 11th Avenue). All performances are 7:30 p.m.

Unlike poetry slams, Youth Onstage!'s Poetry Snap: Word on the Street is not a competition. It's a new hip-hop theatre form, an integrated performance of new hard-hitting, provocative (and often tender) poems woven into an evening of stimulating theatre by an ensemble of socially-engaged poet/performers.

The poets of Word on the Street, are activists from Youth Onstage!, 16 to 22 years old. They hail from Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, Washington Heights and the Lower East Side. Directors Michael Alcide and Darnell Cadet (who also perform in the Poetry Snap) are Youth Onstage! veterans who have been performing and directing with the program since its founding in 2003.

There are only three performances of Poetry Snap: Word on the Street, Friday, April 17, 24 and Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. Seating is limited. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for the youth and the unemployed. TDF is accepted and group rates are available. For tickets call 212-941-1234 or order from www.TheatreMania.com.
