PS Classics will record the cast album of the Broadway musical hit Xanadu on October 29.  The production, presented by Robert Ahrens, Tara Smith and Brian Swibel opened at the Helen Hayes Theatre on July 10 to great critical and audience acclaim.

The recording will feature the cast which stars Kerry Butler, Cheyenne Jackson, Tony Roberts, Mary Testa and Jackie Hoffman and features Curtis Holbrook, Anika Larsen, Kenita Miller and Andre Ward.

Xanadu has book by Douglas Carter Beane, music and lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar and is directed by Christopher Ashley, with choreography by Dan Knechtges. Eric Stern is musical director.

PS Classics announced that the album will be produced by Jeffrey Lesser, whose extensive history as a Record Producer and Recording Engineer (with artists ranging from Barbra Streisand to Vince gill to Sting, soundtracks including The Lord of the Rings and cast albums including tick, tick..BOOM!, Parade, and The Last 5 Years) have earned him numerous Gold and Platinum certifications and Grammy Awards.

The label expects to have the CD in stores on January 8, 2008, although it will be available exclusively at the PS Classics website, the Xanadu website (www.xanaduonbroadway.com) and at the Helen Hayes Theatre by the first week of December.

Founded in 2000 by Tommy Krasker and Philip Chaffin, and twice Grammy-nominated (for its cast recordings of Assassins and Nine: The Musical) PS Classics has been profiled in such publications as The New York Times and Variety for its critically acclaimed cast albums (including the recent Broadway productions of Grey Gardens, Company and 110 in the Shade plus the 2006 London revival of Sunday in the Park With George, now Broadway bound); solo albums by Jessica Molaskey and Christine Andreas, plus upcoming discs by Victoria Clark, Lauren Kennedy and Andrea Burns; and recordings drawn from rare sound archives, including "Sondheim Sings", PS Classics is distributed by Image Entertainment. www.psclassics.com
